John Carney brings us his newest film, Sing Street, which follows a boy named Conor Lawlor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) who is forced to attend a new school and has to deal with his tough life with his family at the same time. But quickly at his new school, Conor begins to have a crush on a girl named Raphina (Lucy Boynton), so in an attempt to impress her, Conor starts a band with his new group of friends, entitled Sing Street.

From the very first scene in the film, the viewers will instantly be attached to the story in Sing Street, as it is something most people can relate to, even if you are not in a band, or you are not in school, I think it has something for everybody to relate to, especially in the character of Conor. When you first start to learn information about him, you feel immediate sympathy for him, as he is a nice and quiet kid, but unfortunately has issues with his family life and has to deal with bullies at his new school, which makes it seem like nothing will be good for Conor.

Easily the best aspect of the film is the elements with Conor and Raphina. You can tell that Conor desperately wants to make an amazing band with his new group of friends to show Raphina that he fits in with the rest of the school, and how much music means to him, and how much he cares about her.

As I was watching the film, I was always fully entertained, and there was not a single scene in Sing Street where I was bored by anything. Everything works perfectly, and one of the best elements of the film is the fact that every character feels real. There is not a character in the film that feels like it is actually an actor behind it all, as they really feel like they are real people in a band.

The film was very emotional which always worked, and made me cry in some scenes. Sing Street is so amazing, after watching the film for the first time, I genuinely wanted to start my own band instantly, and I am sure this will be a film I can watch over and over again and not ever get bored of it.

Sing Street is a masterpiece that will make you emotional and has a story that feels so real and is always entertaining in every scene.
